The National Gay Pilots Association is pleased to announce the 2018 NGPA Industry Expo Presented by United Airlines, which will be held on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel. In 2017 we had a record-breaking number of qualified aviation applicants and industry professionals, and we expect to build upon that success in 2018.

Guest speakers and educational seminars for both commercial, business/corporate, and general aviation pilots are in the lineup of events, including:

  • Doug Hall, who is an Air Force Colonel and a pilot with over 20 years of service. He has flown the MC-130, the C-141, the C-5, and the C-17. He currently serves as the Operations Group Commander at Dover AFB in Delaware.
  • John and Martha King, who are two of the most recognized experts in flight instruction worldwide and founders of King Schools, best known for its effective use of a folksy, humor-rich approach in their training videos characteristic of the King's presentation style. The company claims that more than half of all pilots in the United States have studied using one of their courses.
  • Flight attendant Doreen Welsh had only 90 seconds to focus on survival skills before US Airways Flight 1549 crash-landed into New York's Hudson River in 2010. Join Doreen as she takes participants on the emotional journey of that fateful day which became known as The Miracle on the Hudson.
  • Breakout sessions and workshops focusing on LGBT issues, aviation education, and advocacy. Check back soon for more information on these great additions to the program!

In addition to our keynote addresses, the expo will feature hundreds of ATP-qualified active airline pilots seeking employment, general aviation pilots interested in new products and services, and budding aviators seeking opportunities at flight schools for their career advancement.

The 2018 NGPA Industry Expo Presented by United Airlines is an event not to be missed!
