CONTRAILS Magazine Advocacy Editor
Position Objectives and Purpose
- The Advocacy Editor is tasked with informing NGPA members on important LGBTQ+ political issues, sharing four (4) articles per year within the pages of NGPA's Contrails magazine.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Each quarter, the Advocacy editor:
- seeks out and discusses ideas with Contrails Editor in Chief to finalize a topic for the upcoming issue.
- may seek out others willing to write about their first-person accounts relevant to the mission of advocacy.
- composes approx. 350–500 word article on final topic.
- submits finished article along with any necessary images/graphics by submission deadline date.
Position Expectations
- Current member of NGPA.
- Possess a desire or interest in learning about LGBTQ+ politics on national and local levels.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas with the editor in chief.
- Ability to commit 3-5 hours to gather information and compose one article every three months (4 articles per year)
The Advocacy Editor may engage an assistant editor to share responsibilities.
