Stephanie always loved everything aviation and travel for as long as she can remember, but her aviation career began in 2013 as a Flight Attendant for American Airlines. In 2018, Stephanie started looking into pilot training but was not sure how to get started. Thankfully, the stars aligned when Stephanie worked a high-time turn with former NGPA Vice President, Jan Anderson, where she heard about all the wonderful opportunities that NGPA had to offer, and was eager to start volunteering at any upcoming events before starting pilot training in Bend, Oregon. Stephanie was able to work her way through most of her PPL license after receiving the NGPA Private Pilot Scholarship in 2019. After her training took large delays due to an engine failure crash and shortly afterward, the pandemic, Stephanie decided what was best for her was to move into pilot recruitment. She happily took on a role as a recruiter at United Airlines and recently was promoted to Sr. Specialist – Pilot Hiring Events. Stephanie says that during that tough time in her life of having to transition from pilot training to talent acquisition, NGPA and its amazing members were nothing but supportive, and did all they could to encourage her on her career path journey. The reason why Stephanie is so passionate to step in as the Women’s Committee Chair is because she wants to give back to an organization that she believes got her to where she is today, and help others get to where they would like to go.
