Mentorship Team Volunteer

Position Objective & Purpose

        The Mentorship Team is responsible for overseeing the NGPA Ascend Mentorship Program. The goal of the program is to support LGBTQ+ people in aviation to achieve personal growth and reach their professional goals through peer mentorship from fellow NGPA members.

          This position works with and under the direction of the Mentorship Committee Leaders to support the program, increase the audience of the program, and address day to day questions and issues.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Learning the Ascend Mentorship Program current structure, and Qooper software used to administer the program.

  • Help support participant pairing.

  • Review/audit website steps and language for ease of use and inclusive language.

  • Promote the program within the organization

  • Help schedule monthly or bi-monthly meeting for the mentorship team.

  • Brainstorm and support the implementation of new ideas.

  • Learn and help extract the maximum benefit from the Qooper software and aspects of the program.

  • Respond to email inquire questions and issues to the mentorship inbox.

Position Expectations

  • Current member of NGPA

  • Ability to commit 1-3 hours a week depending on current activities occurring within the organization.

  • Ability to learn mentorship Qooper software

  • Experience with mentorship programs in other organizations or programs

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
