NGPA Launches New Vertical Aviation Committee to Foster Inclusivity and Support for LGBTQ+ Individuals and Allies.

St. Paul, MN, Oct 10, 2024 – The National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) is proud to announce the launch of its newest initiative, the NGPA Vertical Aviation Committee. This new committee seeks to align helicopter, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and electric vertical takeoff & landing (eVTOL) aircraft affiliated members of NGPA under the shared aerodynamic aspect of vertical lift.  Committed to promoting diversity, providing education and support, and offering networking opportunities within the vertical aviation sector, the committee aims to empower LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to thrive in this swiftly emerging aviation sector. 

The NGPA Vertical Aviation Committee is dedicated to achieving the following primary goals: 

  • Diversity: Broaden NGPA's focus beyond airline pilots to showcase the vibrant LGBTQ+ community within the vertical aviation sector.

  • Education and Professional Development: Provide educational resources, workshops, and mentorship programs to empower NGPA members with insights and knowledge relevant to vertical aviation.

  • Networking and Collaboration: Facilitate connections, foster collaboration, and promote inclusivity within the vertical aviation community through networking events, recognition, forums, and partnerships.

Members of the NGPA will benefit from: 

  • Engaging workshops and webinars on topics relevant to vertical aviation pilots, maintainers, and supporting personnel.

  • Networking opportunities with industry professionals, mentors, and other NGPA members in the vertical aviation sector.
