New: The Cape Cod Classic Arrival Challenge

A friendly air-race-style challenge for our General Aviation pilots flying into PVC. Think you know your airplane, your route, and your flight planning well enough to nail your arrival time?

How it works:

  1. Submit your ETA. Pilots must submit their estimated arrival time at PVC by 11:59 PM on Tuesday, September 15. Once submitted, your ETA is locked in — plan carefully.

  2. Fly your flight. Fly into Provincetown as you normally would on your arrival day. This isn't a speed race — the goal is to see who can plan closest to their predicted time.

  3. Text when you land. As soon as you're on the ground at PVC, text Beau at 256-689-2642. This establishes your arrival timestamp, verified against FlightAware data.

The Prize

The pilot with the closest actual arrival time to their submitted ETA wins:

  • First Place: Free admission to Winter Warm Up 2027, bragging rights, and a certificate

  • Second Place: Bragging rights and a certificate

Ties are broken in favor of the pilot who traveled the longest distance to PVC.

Submit Your ETA → (by Tuesday, September 15)

Whether you're flying in from 50 miles away or crossing several states, we're excited to welcome our GA pilots to Provincetown.

Safety comes first. This challenge is based solely on arrival-time prediction, not speed. Pilots should conduct all flights in accordance with applicable regulations, weather conditions, ATC instructions, aircraft limitations, and normal safe operating practices.

For flying into PVC, a few notes:

  • Relax: There is an ILS (horray!).

  • Preferred IFR routes into Cape Cod can be tricky and somewhat roundabout, especially for IFR traffic. Please check the current chart supplement for more information so there are no surprises.

  • If you are coming in VFR from the north, Boston Approach is very good about giving VFR advisories through the Class B airspace. Be prepared to stay outside (to the west) of Mass. Route 128, or well east of the Boston Logan complex.

  • If landing Runway 25, please note that this is a RIGHT traffic pattern - just stay over the water.

  • Boston Approach (formerly Cape Approach) can get saturated very quickly during times of peak volume and inclement weather including LIFR. If you’re planning a “pop-up” IFR clearance, please make sure you have a flight plan on file to expedite service.

  • Many cell phones do not work at PVC (on the ramp or near the terminal), so plan well ahead if you need to call flight service or transportation. There is a public phone in a call box just outside the terminal, but it is sometimes unreliable. If you need to phone a local or toll-free number, including, taxis, representatives at the Cape Air counter inside the terminal are usually helpful.

  • If you have airport-specific requests or needs, Airport Manager at (508)487-0241 (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.).

  • NGPA members & attendees receive free overnight aircraft parking Thursday through Sunday when they mention "NGPA". Members and attendees also receive 40 cents off Half-gas per gallon, and 25 cents off Jet Fuel per gallon.

You won’t want to miss this celebration of community and aviation. Plan your fly-in today and join us for the fun! Register now, if you have not already done so. Already registered, and need to change your Queen of Fleet participation status? Email us at [email protected]
