Washington, DC November 19, 2024 – The National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) proudly concluded its first-ever Student Summit, presented by Wings Credit Union, on November 16, an event designed to inspire and connect aspiring aviation professionals from the LGBTQ+ community and beyond. Held just outside our nation’s capital, the summit brought together students, educators, and industry leaders to foster education, networking, and career opportunities within STEM.
This year’s summit featured dynamic keynote presentations, breakout sessions, and interactive workshops covering a range of topics such as mentorship, scholarships, and professional pathways. Highlights included discussions on financial literacy, mental health in aviation, and the significant role NGPA student chapters have on their campus. The 2024 Student Summit was made possible in part by contributions from event sponsors.
