NGPA Cape Cod Classic – Provincetown, MA | September 17–20, 2026

Welcome to your first NGPA Cape Cod Classic! Whether you’re coming for the aviation networking, the social events, or simply to experience the magic of Provincetown, we’re so glad you’re joining us. This guide is here to help you navigate your trip and make the most of your experience.

About the Event

The Cape Cod Classic is NGPA’s first ever signature annual event—a vibrant long weekend celebrating aviation, inclusion, and community. Pilots, aviation professionals, and enthusiasts gather for fun, networking, and unforgettable memories. It’s a unique blend of industry and community spirit set against the backdrop of one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly destinations in the country.

Welcome to Provincetown, MA

Tucked at the very tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown (or “P-Town” to the locals) is a small coastal town bursting with charm, history, and inclusivity. From its roots as a Portuguese fishing village to its legacy as an artist haven and LGBTQ+ mecca, P-Town is a one-of-a-kind destination.

A Walkable, Bike-Friendly Town

Provincetown is not car-friendly—and that’s part of its charm! The town is compact and designed for walking and biking, with nearly everything (shops, restaurants, bars, beaches, and our event venues) located within a short stroll or bike ride. Parking is very limited and often expensive, so we strongly discourage bringing a car.

Getting to Provincetown (PVC)

Provincetown is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the journey! We recommend flying into Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and continuing to Provincetown using one of the following methods:

Option 1: Fast Ferry from Boston (RECOMMENDED)

  • Boston → Provincetown Ferry (approx. 90 minutes)

  • Operated by Boston Harbor Cruises and Bay State Cruise Company

  • Runs several times a day

  • Arrives directly at the Provincetown pier—walkable to most lodging and event venues

Option 2: Bus Service

  • Plymouth & Brockton Bus Line runs from Boston to Hyannis, then a local shuttle or rideshare can connect to Provincetown

  • Budget-friendly, but longer and less direct

Option 3: Car Rental & Drive

  • Approx. 2.5 to 3.5-hour drive from Boston, depending on traffic

  • Limited parking in Provincetown—only pursue this if absolutely necessary and ensure your lodging includes parking or you have a lot picked out

Option 4: Cape Air from BOS to PVC

  • 9-seater flights directly to Provincetown

  • Limited availability and prone to weather delays

Lodging in Provincetown

There are no large hotels in Provincetown, which means lodging tends to be in charming inns, guesthouses, and vacation rentals.

Lodging Tips:

  • Book early! The town fills up fast, especially during event weekends.

  • NGPA has secured a limited number of discounted lodging options (check our website for the list—first come, first served).

  • Airbnb and VRBO are popular, especially for groups or sharing with fellow attendees.

  • Consider staying within walking distance of the pier and Commercial Street for convenience.

Making Connections: Networking as a First-Time Attendee

One of the best parts of the Cape Cod Classic is the people you’ll meet—fellow aviators, students, professionals, and others from across the country and beyond. If you're new to NGPA or attending for the first time, we've made it easy for you to connect and feel welcome:

Use the Discussion Board on Our Event App

Our mobile event app (launching closer to the event) includes a discussion board where you can:

  • Introduce yourself

  • Coordinate meetups or dinner plans

  • Ask travel or lodging questions

  • Stay informed about pop-up gatherings and updates

First-Time Attendee Lanyard

When you check in at registration, be sure to obtain your first timer attendee lanyard. It’s a great conversation starter and helps others know you’re new and ready to connect. First time attendees are provided a white event lanyard, vs our standard black event lanyard.

Friday Evening Welcome Reception

Be sure to join us Friday night for the Friday Evening Welcome Reception—a relaxed and friendly social designed specifically to help you meet fellow first-timers, NGPA leaders, and longtime members. Come solo or with your crew—it’s the perfect official kickoff to the weekend.

Final Tips for First-Timers:

  • Bring comfortable walking shoes—you’ll be doing a lot of it!

  • Pack layers—Cape Cod weather can shift quickly between warm sun and cool breezes. Our events don't have a dress code - so pack casual and smart casual clothing options to fit your own style.

  • Consider renting a bike or ebike for easy transport around town, depending on where you are staying.

  • Don’t forget sunscreen and a swimsuit—we’re at the beach, after all!
