Special Message From David Pettet

A Special Message From President David Pettet

June 12, 2016

Hate is an ugly thing, and it showed its face last night in the heart of Orlando. I can't help but think as I write this, that it could have been any city, any of our friends, our family, that could have been there. This attack was on Americans, the LGBT community, and on human life. America has spoken over the years with a majority of support for our rights and fair and equal treatment, and as I've said before, the battle may be won, but the war is not.

Today we grieve for our brothers and sisters of the LGBT community of Orlando. We are working closely with our local NGPA chapter in Orlando to provide the needs necessary for our members. We are setting up in conjunction with our local chapter a support group that will be in place in Orlando. Due to the nature of this tragedy, we will not be posting the location and details publicly. If you would like more information please email [email protected].

Be alert, know your surroundings, and let's stand together against the hate. We will prevail, and we will win this. As I conclude my brief words to you today, I pray for each and one of NGPA members safety and your friends and loved ones. June is a month for us to show our pride and celebrate who we are, and I hope you'll join me in that celebration today.

Sincerely,
David Pettet
President NGPA
