St. Paul, Minnesota – September 24, 2025 — The National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) proudly celebrated 35 years of community and connection at its annual Cape Cod Classic, presented by Piedmont Airlines. This year’s event not only honored the legacy of NGPA’s oldest tradition but also marked the beginning of NGPA’s 35th anniversary year.
What began in 1990 as a small gathering of friends in Provincetown has grown into a signature celebration that brings together LGBTQ+ aviators and allies from around the world. The 2025 Cape Cod Classic was a resounding success, uniting members, sponsors, and supporters for a weekend of camaraderie, inclusion, and aviation pride.
This year’s event featured exciting opportunities, including a fly-in event at Provincetown Municipal Airport (PVC), expanded member socials, and new opportunities for connection. Longstanding traditions—such as the Friday Welcome Reception, Saturday Sail, and community celebrations—anchored the weekend, celebrating the unique spirit that has defined the Cape Cod Classic for 35 years.
NGPA extends its heartfelt gratitude to the generous sponsors who made this event possible:
-
Presenting Sponsor: Piedmont Airlines
-
Contributing Sponsors: Total Investment Management, Cirrus Aircraft, and Thales
Their support, along with the support of our members and donors, continues to help NGPA create spaces that foster LGBTQ+ connection, visibility, and belonging across the aviation industry.
