Happy (belated) World Pilots Day! Whether you’re flying every week, working toward your first license, or supporting aviation in other ways, this day is a reminder of how NGPA members come together to build community for LGBTQ+ aviators.
First, I want to congratulate NGPA's Purdue University Student Chapter for hosting over 50+ students from across the Midwest at this year’s NGPA University Chapters – Midwest Social! From start to finish, this student-led event was fantastic, and something you certainly don’t want to miss if you have the opportunity to attend.
NGPA members who wish to make a career in the aerospace industry or who work elsewhere and wish to increase the margin of safety and fun in General Aviation are invited to apply for the NGPA Scholarship Program. Explore how you can learn, prepare, and finally apply during our next application window.

Book your flights now to the Windy City, as NGPA plans to host two fabulous events in Chicago, IL this May and June! Up first, NGPA's Transgender and Non-Binary Committee will touch down with the Transgender Social, May 22-24th! This annual event for our Trans, Non-binary, and Gender-diverse members and their partners, is a space to share community with one another, to safely play and experiment with gender, and to build out your support system. Each year NGPA attends EAA AirVenture and provides various opportunities for our members to network and experience what the event has to offer. AirVenture is a great event for all areas of aviation, and we hope to see you there!

Stress is a constant factor in aviation, from the nerves of interviews and checkrides to high-pressure situations on the line. This presentation, led by NGPA Cares Lead Reini Thijssen (LMHC, LPC), explores how stress shows up throughout an aviation career and how it affects focus, decision-making, and performance. Using practical, evidence-based tools, attendees will learn to recognize and better understand stress responses, and apply strategies in real time. By the end of the session, you will leave with actionable techniques to manage stress and improve your overall performance.
