The National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) is proud to announce the inaugural recipients of the NGPA Meritorious Service Award, a newly established honor recognizing members whose extraordinary service and enduring contributions have helped shape and strengthen the organization.
The NGPA Meritorious Service Award was created to acknowledge individuals who have shared their aviation industry expertise, demonstrated exceptional leadership, and shown a long-standing commitment to advancing NGPA’s mission.
This recognition celebrates members whose impact extends well beyond a single role or moment, reflecting years of service that have left a lasting legacy on the organization and its community.
Our busy end-of-year celebrations are now behind us, but the NGPA fun never stops! 2025 was a record-setting year for local and national events, and we're gearing up to make 2026 even bigger! In order to make it easier for chapter leaders and members to feature their incredible events, we have set up a new chapter event photo submission platform that will allow us to better connect to members. With just a few clicks you can upload your photos, tag the chapter, and let us know details from the event!

The NGPA has joined the Aviation Mental Health Alliance (AMHA) as a Supporting Member, furthering its advocacy for policy that reflects modern clinical standards and supports the long-term health of the aviation workforce. The decision builds NGPA’s established commitment to safety, equity, and inclusion, while adding its voice to a growing industry-wide effort focused on improving mental health within aviation.

Visibility. It's not just a buzzword... it is central to everything we do at NGPA. Last year, our community faced unprecedented scrutiny and criticism, a microscope on who we are and where we belong. Yet since its founding, the NGPA mission has remained the same: to build, support, and unite the LGBTQ+ aviation community in the United States and around the world. Last year, we proved that in the face of difficulty, we will not let our voices be silenced. Social media reach and metrics may seem secondary to our mission (how much impact can a fun Instagram reel have, you might ask), and yet we've proven time and time again the importance of consistent, quality posts. When we share photos of friends, tag one of our hundreds of events across the country, or simply like a Facebook post, we can spread our message far outside our community and enact change.
