All month long, NGPA members have shown up in record numbers at Pride celebrations across the country. Photos and posts on social media from events big and small show the vibrancy and impact of our organization, as well as the strong sense of belonging NGPA fosters within our community.


Earlier this month, our annual Pride-focused national event, Wings Over, took place in Washington, D.C., coinciding with WorldPride. Members from across the country gathered to celebrate, joined by allies, families, and corporate supporters. This year’s float paid tribute to our transgender members, proudly featuring the colors of the trans flag. A heartfelt thank you to our DC Chapter, Out on the Runway, and especially Russ P., Hershel G., Jasmine W., and so many others whose time and energy made the weekend unforgettable.

We are about halfway through the 2025 Scholarship Application Window. Have YOU submitted your application yet? Since its inception, the NGPA has awarded over $2 million in scholarships to a wide host of deserving candidates- from members looking for an advanced type rating or endorsement, to those just beginning their aviation journey with Private Pilot Certifications and flight school tuition support. Last year, NGPA awarded over $200,000 to more than 30 deserving applicants, helping to launch careers and further aviation dreams. In the current aviation climate, it can be more difficult than ever for both aspiring and seasoned aviators to make their personal and professional goals come true. That is why this year we're asking for extra help from our membership to uplift and support our community with a generous donation to our Scholarship Fund. All of your generous donations go directly to pay for scholarships as selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee, and associated travel expenses for recipients to receive their awards at our annual presentation ceremony.  All donations are fully tax deductible. Any amount given can make a huge difference! 

NGPA was well-represented at this year's historic WorldPride in Washington, D.C. and we showed up and showed out! With nearly 100 members representing over a dozen chapters, this event was one to remember! A very special thanks to our D.C. Chapter Out on the Runway for hosting this extraordinary event as part of our Wings Over series, presented by Piedmont Airlines. We could not be more proud of our members who descended on Washington to represent our organization and show off our one-of-a-kind community! In a time where LGBTQ+ representation matters more than ever, your presence made a huge impact!

Are you interested in volunteering with the NGPA this year at EAA AirVenture? Booth volunteers will receive FREE AirVenture entry for days they work, as well as a Lunch/Snack at the Booth at no cost to the volunteer! There are 3 shifts per day lasting 2 hours each. Pick one, or give back the whole week! We can't wait to see you there!

On June 9th, the General Aviation Committee hosted a webinar on Intro to Mountain Flying, aiming to help our members safely navigate in and out of our flagship event in Palm Springs. Congrats to the GA committee for a hugely successful event, and be on the lookout for future GA events both in-person and online, coming soon! 

This London Pride, we’re back and bigger than ever. We're taking celebrations to new heights with Pride in the Skies, Aviation Pride UK’s flagship event! No matter your role in the aviation world —this weekend is for YOU. And guess what? You don’t need to be a member to join in the fun (though members get exclusive discounts, so it’s worth signing up!). Celebrate with every role in the industry, every color of the rainbow, from all around the UK.

Friday 4th July — Pre-Pride Party

Our flagship networking celebration, set in a stunning railway arch venue. Featuring an open bar, Greek food truck, and live entertainment from a West End performer and leading drag queen, Son of a Tutu.

Saturday 5th July — London Pride Parade

March alongside our fabulous float through the streets, celebrating inclusivity and showcasing the colors of aviation. 

Sunday 6th July — Bottomless Drag Brunch

Bottomless drinks, delicious brunch, and performances from some of London’s finest drag queens.
