It is one of the most exciting times of the year for the NGPA: SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS OPEN JUNE 1ST! One of the core tenets of our organization is to support our LGBTQ+ Aviation community, and with this year's $500k+ available scholarships, we hope to do just that. We are proud to offer scholarships to a wide array of aviators, from established professionals looking to add a rating, to newcomers who are just beginning their aviation journey... and everyone in between!

Happy Pride Month, NGPA family!  
Our annual scholarship application window opens June 1st, just in time to kick off the celebrations of our community. For months, volunteers from the Scholarship Selection Committee have been working behind the scenes configuring an entirely new system, on top of the already busy time preparing for opening day. 

Next month, join Chicago's Windy City Flyers as they host Wings Over Chicago, June 26-28th. This continuing series of events invites chapters from all over the country to join us in a week of events, friends, and visibility. Click below to register!

Towards the end of May, the Transgender and Nonbinary Committee hosted its Annual Transgender Social, bringing together more than 50 members from across the country in Chicago for a weekend of connection, networking, and community. Over the course of three days, attendees had the opportunity to build relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, truly reflecting NGPA’s mission to build, support, and unite it's members.
NGPA is focused on encouraging more engagement with our General Aviation members. The GA committee is planning regional activities, GA-oriented content, networking at NGPA events, and educational webinars. We welcome input from all members interested in GA.

NGPA continues to grow at a blistering pace, giving more opportunities for LGBTQ+ aviation professionals, enthusiasts, and allies to connect and build community. From coast to coast, north to south (and even abroad!), we envision a future where there is an NGPA chapter right in everyone's backyard! This year, we are proud to have expanded to new markets, and would like to officially welcome the following chapters to our family:

Join NGPA and our members at the 2026 EAA AirVenture event as we gather in Oshkosh, WI this July 20-26, 2026. Each year NGPA attends EAA AirVenture and provides various opportunities for our members to network and experience what the event has to offer. 

This year, our flagship event the NGPA AIRVENTURE BBQ will be on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 @ 6pm. We can't wait to see you there!
