Scholarship Committee Volunteer

Position Objective and Purpose

Volunteers on the Scholarship Committee serve as the careful stewards of our scholarship funds and ancillary expenses. In carefully considering each applicant, you help shape the future of the aviation industry and shape the vision and values of NGPA.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Have computer access, internet connection, and time to grade applications during September and October.
Respect and protect the privacy of each applicant. Treat their entire application package as personally identifiable information, and refrain from discussing details of applications packages or applicants with others.
Set aside enough time to carefully consider the merits of each application.
Objectively consider each scholarship applicant’s package, and grade all applicants for a specific scholarship against the same standard critieria.
Accomplish grading of all assigned scholarship applications before deadline (November 1, 2021)
Protect the integrity of the NGPA Scholarship Committee grading process: let the Scholarship Chair know if there could be a conflict of interest in grading a particular package, such as that of a relative or good friend.

Desired Experience

Member of NGPA for 1 year or more
Certificated at or beyond the certification for which the scholarship opportunity is advertising
Familiarity with pilot recruiting processes for commensurate corporate-sponsored scholarships
Previous experience grading on NGPA or other scholarship programs’ application packages
