Message from the Executive Director November 2024

Season’s Greetings,

Earlier this month, the NGPA returned to our nation’s capital, Washington, DC, where we hosted over 110 industry leaders and key stakeholders for our annual Aviation Inclusion Summit. This unique event is specifically designed to provide a space for sharing ideas and perspectives among an affirming network of peers. This year, it was our honor to welcome the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) as the opening keynote for the 2-day summit, located at ALPA’s headquarters. ALPA’s Vice President of Administration/Secretary, Captain Sean Creed, spoke on the union’s behalf, reaffirming their support of NGPA’s mission. Next year’s Aviation Inclusion Summit is November 12-14, 2025. View photos from the event HERE

Also held in DC, I’m thrilled to share that our first Student Summit was a resounding success! This first-of-its-kind 1-day event was filled with professional development workshops, panels, and peer networking. Over 70 students from more than a dozen NGPA student chapters attended. Thank you to David Nelson and Valarie Meyer, University Committee Chairs, for the incredible work they each invested to ensure the summit’s success. We hope to make this an annual event as we look for new ways to financially support our investment in community engagement. View photos from the event HERE

GivingTuesday is coming up December 3rd! The NGPA relies on the generosity of its members to put on programming such as the Student Summit, chapter events, mental health resources, scholarships, and more. With the change in the political social climate, we are already beginning to see its impact on our resources. This year’s fundraising goal is $25,000. Donations go directly towards supporting our ability to deliver NGPA’s mission. Please consider helping us achieve our goal so that we can ensure programming and essential member services continue without interruption.

If you need any of the resources mentioned above or any others, please don’t hesitate to contact [email protected].

To my chosen family, I wish those celebrating a Happy Thanksgiving!
