Transgender Social Recap May 2026

Towards the end of May, the Transgender and Nonbinary Committee hosted its Annual Transgender Social, bringing together more than 50 members from across the country in Chicago for a weekend of connection, networking, and community. Over the course of three days, attendees had the opportunity to build relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, truly reflecting NGPA’s mission to build, support, and unite it's members.
The weekend began with a Friday Night Social hosted in partnership with the local Windy City Chapter, creating a warm and welcoming introduction for members visiting Chicago. On Saturday, attendees visited the United Airlines National Operations Center (NOC) in Arlington Heights, Illinois, where NGPA member Parker Wilson provided an in-depth look into the role of an airline dispatcher at one of the world’s largest airlines. Members were given a tour of the NOC and gained a firsthand perspective on the coordination and teamwork required to support complex airline operations every day.
The event continued with a group dinner Saturday evening and brunch on Sunday, further strengthening the sense of community and belonging that defined the weekend. The 2026 Transgender Social highlighted the importance of visibility and support within the aviation industry and beyond.
The Transgender and Nonbinary Committee, led by Kori Necker and Bryn Barr alongside four additional NGPA volunteers, dedicated countless hours to planning and executing this successful event. NGPA is incredibly grateful for their hard work, leadership, and commitment to creating meaningful experiences for members.
