Governance Committee Member Representative
Position Objective & Purpose
The Governance Committee is responsible for ongoing review and recommendations to enhance the quality and future viability of the board of directors. This committee’s area of responsibility includes Board Composition, Board Knowledge, Board Effectiveness, and Board Leadership.
This position works with and under the direction of the Chair of the Governance Committee to support the association.
Key Roles & Responsibilities

Develops and maintains Association Policies, Rules, Guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Attending scheduled monthly meetings over Zoom

Tasked with assisting the board in developing its composition, knowledge, effectiveness, and leadership

Assists with board member training

Nominates a slate of candidates to the Board for succession planning

Brainstorm and support the implementation of new ideas
Position Expectations
-
Current member of NGPA for at least two years
-
Ability to commit 1-2 hours a week depending on current activities occurring within the association

Experience with legal and operational policies

Experience with Microsoft Office products (ex. Word)

Ability to work independently as well as with a team
