The Winter Warm-Up is the NGPA’s flagship West Coast event, which is held at the beginning of the year and is by far our largest yearly gathering. Warm weather, a uniquely Southwest landscape, and miles of blue skies make Palm Springs, CA the perfect spot for a mid-winter fly-in.
Please review the schedule outline for our 2024 Palm Springs Winter Warm-Up below. A more detailed schedule will be available to attendees in the event app launching in late December.

9AM-4PM Industry Expo - (Expo Hall CLOSED from 12:00pm until 1:30pm for Lunch and Keynote Speaker) NGPA is pleased to present the 2024 NGPA Industry Expo Presented by United Airlines, which will be held Thursday, Feb 15 - Friday, Feb 16, 2024, at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Exhibitor booths, hiring events, guest speakers and educational seminars for general aviation, business/corporate, and commercial pilots are in the lineup of events.
9:30AM-10:30AM – Transgender & Non-binary Member Welcome Social – Calling all members of the Transgender & Non-binary community. Please come join us in the Andreas room of the Renaissance hotel for a welcome social to meet and network with fellow members of the community. Coffee and pastries will be provided.
12PM-1:30PM Luncheon and Keynote Speaker: Matt Lindley - Matt joined the UK Royal Air Force in 1995 and qualified as a fast jet pilot flying the British Aerospace Hawk. As an RAF flying instructor Matt graduated with a rare distinction from the RAF Central Flying School. He specialised as a VIP Captain, becoming the Head of Hawker Training on 32 The Royal Squadron. He was responsible for flying Her Majesty The Queen, members of the UK Royal Family, The Prime Minister and Cabinet worldwide for over 10 years. Whilst serving, Matt flew operationally in Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan. During his career in the RAF, UK legislation changed, allowing Matt to become one of the first openly-gay pilots in the Armed Forces.
Whilst in the military, Matt became a civilian Crew Resource Management Instructor, developing a particular interest in non-technical training, human performance and error management. In 2006, Matt joined British Airways, initially flying the Airbus A320 and from 2012 the Boeing 747. Matt now flies the Boeing 777 on a 50% part time contract. Outside of aviation Matt formed Propel Performance a change management company, which works extensively in the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare and central government. Matt is an international keynote speaker and has delivered TEDx talks.

Come to this important and engaging workshop to help guide your chapter, learn new ideas, and share your ideas with other volunteers. Held in Renaissance Hotel Mojave Learning Center.
4PM - 5PM Chapter Volunteer Social - Calling all NGPA local chapter volunteers. Join the local chapter committee leaders in Chino A&B at the Renaissance Hotel for a social and thanks for all you do.
4PM - 5PM New Member & Retiree Meet & Greet - New members, retirees, and first-time event attendees are cordially invited! Gather with us in the Andreas room at the Renaissance as NGPA leaders introduce you to other members, chat about the NGPA experience, and welcome you into our NGPA family.
6PM-9PM Evening Reception – Hosted outside around the Renaissance Pool, join NGPA for the official Winter Warm-Up kickoff party with music, food, and drinks.

10:30AM – 11:30AM Transgender & Non-binary Committee Briefing - Please join NGPA Transgender and Nonbinary Committee co-Chairs Kori Necker and Parker Lilly Wilson for an update and Q&A on the work and goals of the Committee. Kori and Parker will share the committee’s specific recommendations for mental health and Trans health aeromedical reform, and how these reforms will make safer aviation across the National Airspace System. This session will also lay out specific steps and action items for cis allies to help effect these reforms. The session will close with a brief Q&A session. Located on Expo Hall Symposium Stage.
1:30PM-3PM General Session – Join NGPA leadership to learn about the current state of the NGPA, where the organization is going, and how far it has come. Lunch will be provided.
3PM - 4PM Friends of Bill W. and Supporters - We welcome our Friends of Bill W. Identifying attendees and their supporters to join us in the Andreas meeting room at the Renaissance Hotel
5:30 PM Transportation to the Palm Springs Air Museum Begins - Transportation will run round trip until the evening reception ends.
6PM-9PM Palm Springs Air Museum Reception – Home to one of the largest collections of flyable WWII aircraft, we’ll use the dramatic backdrop of the Palm Springs Air Museum to kick off the 2023 NGPA Palm Springs Winter Warm-Up . This event is a great opportunity to reconnect, aside vintage aircraft, with old friends and new. Catering will be provided.
10:30AM - TillPM Transportation to PSP Airport (Signature Flight Support) Begins
11AM-2PM Queen of the Fleet and Airport Lunch – Join us a Signature Flight Support for our annual Queen of the Fleet Competition and a Complimentary lunch for Winter Warm Up attendees.
2PM-4PM Women’s Committee Paint your own Pottery - New this year, join the women’s committee for painting at the Renaissance in the Andreas Room. Prior RSVP required in Winter Warm-Up registration.
5:30PM-7PM Silent Auction & Social – The NGPA Silent Auction benefits our scholarship program. Grab a cocktail and have a look at our auction items prior to the gala outside of the Grand Ballroom at the Renaissance.
5:30PM-6:30PM Flight Deck Reception – Invite only for Flight Deck members in the San Jacinto Room in the Renaissance Hotel.
6:30PM NGPA Gala Flight Deck Members Priority Seating Opens - Flight Deck member are invited to priority seating in Oasis 4 for the gala
6:45PM NGPA Gala General Seating Opens - General seating for the gala opens in the Palm Springs Convention Center. Enter from the East Lawn into Oasis 4
7PM-9:30PM NGPA Gala – The annual NGPA Gala is our signature weekend event. This formal gala features a plated dinner, stage presentations, scholarship recipient awards, and comedic entertainment.
11AM-1PM Battle of the Skies Drag Brunch – Hosted by Ongina, you won’t want to miss out on this entertaining and hilarious celebration before you depart Palm Springs! A complimentary brunch and bottomless mimosa bar are included at this event. Located in the Renaissance California Ballroom.
2PM-4PM Solar Soak - It’s Palm Springs in February, so why not take some time for yourself at the Renaissance Pool where you can lounge in luxury, listen to music from DJ Tommy, and splash your cares away under spectacularly majestic mountain views!
